The Asfari Foundation London university scholarships

Introduction: The Asfari Foundation via the Asfari Foundation London university scholarships works in the UK, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine giving talented and motivated but disadvantaged young people the opportunity to achieve the skills and knowledge to actively contribute to the development of their societies.

You can also apply for Erasmus mundus scholarship for non EU students or Auckland university scholarships and awards scheme.

The Foundation set up a UK Scholarships Programme in 2013. Since then, it has supported 18 Syrian, Palestinian and Lebanese scholars.

Scholarships are available for the next academic year for eligible Syrian, Palestinian and Lebanese applicants for selected taught Master’s degrees at four UK partner universities.

Scholarships are available at the following universities for the following courses:

  • University of Edinburgh – all full-time, one-year, taught Master’s courses (non-laboratory based courses only).
  • University of East Anglia – all full-time, one-year taught Master’s courses.
  • Imperial College London – any taught Master’s course in the Business School excluding any MBA programme and excluding the MSc in Actuarial Finance.
  • University of St Andrews – all full-time, one-year taught Master’s courses.

Value:

scholarship includes full tuition fees and a stipend to cover accommodation and living costs. If necessary, the cost of travel to the UK will also be covered.

Eligibility:

The scholarships are open to full-time applicants who satisfy all the following criteria in that they:

  • are Syrian, Palestinian or Lebanese
  • are resident in Syria, Palestine, or Lebanon or have recently moved elsewhere in the region (including Syrian refugees in Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq or Jordan; Palestinians living in Syria or Lebanon; and Palestinian citizens of Israel)
  • have received an unconditional offer on or before 31 March  for a one-year taught Master’s course at one of the Foundation’s partner universities
  • have met the English language requirements (IELTS) of the university
  • are under the age of 40
  • intend to invest their skills in the region after graduation
  • priority may be given to candidates who have had fewer opportunities
